The price cut along with other festive season offers should help Maruti Suzuki boost its sales figures

Maruti has reduced prices of select models by Rs 5,000.

The price cut will be effective from September 25.

The reduced prices can be clubbed with ongoing offers.

Diesel-powered Swift, Dzire and Baleno get a price cut.

While the government hasn’t announced any GST cuts for automobiles, it did announce various corporate tax cuts in a bid to revive the economy. Following the announcement, Maruti Suzuki has decided to extend an added discount of Rs 5,000 on most of their model range on top of ongoing offers this festive season.

The new offer extends to all variants of the Alto 800, Alto K10, Celerio, Ignis, Vitara Brezza, S-Cross and diesel variants of the Swift, Dzire, Dzire Tour S and Baleno. The revised ex-showroom prices will be applicable from 25 September 2019 onwards. However, the WagonR, Ciaz, Ertiga, XL6 and petrol variants of select models won’t be enjoying the added discount.

Here’s the revised price range (ex-showroom Delhi) for the discounted models:

Revised Price Range
Alto Rs 2.89 lakh to Rs 4.09 lakh
Alto K10 Rs 3.61 lakh to Rs 4.40 lakh
Celerio Rs 4.26 lakh to Rs 5.43 lakh
Ignis Rs 4.74 lakh to Rs 7.10 lakh
Swift (diesel) Rs 6.98 lakh to Rs 8.84 lakh
Dzire (diesel) Rs 6.67 lakh to Rs 9.53 lakh
Baleno (diesel) Rs 6.69 lakh to Rs 8.68 lakh
Vitara Brezza Rs 7.63 lakh to Rs 10.38 lakh
S-Cross Rs 8.81 lakh to Rs 11.44 lakh

*Maruti’s fleet offering the Dzire Tour S’ diesel variant will now be priced at Rs 6.56 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai).

Maruti is amongst the worst affected by the ongoing downturn in the automotive industry with year-on-year sales reflecting the declining numbers. These discounts and incentives are all part of the carmaker’s attempt to try and revive demand.
